Hi there, can anyone help me, Im trying to locate any cabinetmaking companies around the Melbourne area.
We are looking to rent in 2011 and would like to know the best areas to look to rent ( with a small dog)
We are also considering mobile home sites ( caravan/cabins ) for short term let until we decide where we want to live .
Thanks
Netty n John

Default Melbourne

Hello Netty and John
If you look up the Australian Melbourne Yellow pages on line you will find all of the cabinet makers in Melbourne.

The north eastern and eastern suburbs are generally the nicer areas to live.
The inner city is expensive and most people live near their work in the suburbs.

There is not much in the way of caravan type accomodation and it would not necessarily be cheaper than a small apartment.

We lie in Eltham which is a very treed and rural looking suburb.

I hope that helps

Alan & Chris

Thanks Alan & Chris,
Did you have somewhere to stay as soon as you got over there or is it possible to apply for rental before we leave the UK?
How long have you been there..are you enjoying life in Victoria?

Thanks
Netty & John.

Try Schiavello. They are a very large privately owned office fitout company that have their own large cabinet making factory in the northern suburbs.

Regarding accommodation - what is your rent budget (weekly) and what kind of property are you looking for, (house/flat, number of bedrooms, etc)?

Thanks for your reply.

There will be 2 of us with a small dog (he would be in quarantine for a month) so I guess from your advice we could rent somewhere for a month whilst looking for rentals?
Are there many places where we could rent (somewhere decent) for a month?

It would be difficult to rent somewhere for a month other than holiday letting This could be expensive
You could look at a non simultaneous house swap before you leave and pick up you month later when you come to Austalia. homeexchange.com and others on line would be worth having a look at. That way you accomodation here would cost nothing.

If you have to rent something for a month then you might want to head for country areas where it would be cheaper

hope this helps
