Heloo everyone I am a newbie here. Thanx alot everyone for the great informations that is available in this forum.

Well just a quick intro. I am from Singapore and hopefully planning to work in Oz someday. Just a few quick questions if you guys dont mind.

Currently, my highest qualification is a diploma in electronics from a local tertiary institution in Singapore. Have been working in Singapore for almost 4 to 5 years in the Building and Construction dealing in Fire Safety,CCTV and various others building system.

I was hoping to get a similar job in Oz but most of the jobs that is available online shows this line at the end of the advertisement "To be eligible to apply for this position you must have an appropriate Australian or New Zealand work visa."

From the various threads that I read, I have a picture that you cant get a visa without a job and you cant get a job without a visa.. So what do you guys think? What is the likelihood of me landing a job in Oz.. Should I carry on chasing this dream or should I just give up when the dream is still small?? Do i need to have a degree to try for a visa at the first place?

Sorry for the boring questions but hope someone can help in this matter.. Thanks very much appreciate it

Hi HereGoes,

Welcome to the forum.

The simple answer is you can't get a job without a visa.

Have a look at the sticky threads at the top of the forum page "please read....." and "Thinking of emigrating?". You'll be able to see which visa suits you, if you have enough points and if your job is on the skills in demand list.

Hi Heregoes,

You can however get a visa without a job. We came here with a visa but without jobs and it wasn't a problem.

As Dolly said check out those posts and they will help.

Regards,
Karen
