Default Driving License

Also I have a driving license for New Zealand (along with U.K) until 2012 would it be easy to transfer this for an Australian license?

Cheers

Ozman

Hi Ozman,

We had a UK licence and there was no problem getting an Aussie one in South Australia. We showed our licences - didn't need any tests or anything for a basic licence (covers manual and automatic cars).

Some of this may depend on the state you are moving to which is why I've specified for South Australia.

We've still kept the UK one too.

Regards,
Karen

Same here in Victoria Karen,

We went to VicRoads with our application form, passport, evidence of our address and fee, had a photo taken and from start to finish in 15 mins we'd got our Australian driving licences.

We had heard that our UK licence would be hole punched (for whatever reason) but it's still intact!

I think that you'll need a re-test. The swap is only for a basic car driving licence . You can always check with the State that you are moving to - they should have a website with info on it.

Karen
