Cool Any South African`s in Whyalla, South Australia???

HI all thanks for such a great place to get questions answered.

My question is... are there any South African`s that are currently living in Whyalla South Australia that are on this foro???

I am awaiting my final interview from OneSteel which is due to happen this week and was wondering if anyone lives there or has been through there and could tell me of the living conditions, cost of living etc i have been on the whyalla website and looks like a great place to live.

Thanks
Jones

I visited Whyalla once many years ago when I was at OneSteel. Whyalla is a pleasant sort of place and I think reasonably cheap to live. Just avoid the side of the town facing OneSteel as its red.... I suppose you could live at Port Arthur etc.

Adelaide is about 4.5 hours drive away.

Hi Jones,

Welcome to the forum.

I'm not South African but I am in South Australia. However I'm about 450km the other side of Adelaide down in Mount Gambier. Whyalla and Mt Gambier are both growing and both claim to the second largest city in South Australia If you check out the 'cost of living' thread you'll see my costs for living in Mount Gambier. I think they would be similar since both cities are considered rural.

Regards,
Karen
