Default Doing visa yourself and save thousands!

Doing the visa yourself will save you thousands. We did ours and it was no harder than filling in a passport form. Dont be fooled into paying for agents to do the paper work. You still have to fill in all the documentation yourself and they just check it!!! The skill assessment can be a bit tricky at the start of the process but if you google skill assessment services in sites are available that give loads of advice and help.
Good luck.

Hi RAYMAN1,

It really depends on everyone's individual circumstances. We used an agent and were happy to pay the thousands of pounds because we were running out of time and had to get it right first time. We were on the skilled independent visa and we were both self employed. In our case it was the right thing to do especially since we'd been told by two agents that we didn't stand a chance of getting in. We've been here 3.5 years now

People have to decide for themselves whether they need an agent and what service (if any) they need from an agent since agents offer different services.

For us using an agent was the right thing to do.

Regards,
Karen

Its like servicing your car... we can all do it but its easier to get someone else to do as there is a good chance of you over-looking something.

As with Karen, we used an agent because time was against us and we had to pass the skills assessment part first time otherwise we wouldn't be able to emigrate. It was worth it for peace of mind too ....

As you say, the skills assessment can be tricky but if you have the time and not pass first time, you can re-apply. The main application in comparison is a doddle.
