Check for rentals long/short in gumtree or domain.com.au. There are many available. Try to call them rather than sending mails.

But it's tough to get them to respond when you are overseas. Then you won't know if you can trust them with a deposit.

It's just tough getting accomodation settled when one is not physically here...
