Default "Fire-Fighter"

I cant seem to find an answer, Im currently employed part-time a fire-fighter in Northern Ireland and work as a graphic designer full-time I dont know if this qualifies as a skill in Australia.
I am 30 married with 2 young kids, my wife work as an accounts clerk, My wife has 2 sets of relatives in Perth.

Any helpful pointers on clarifying if the fire-fighter gains any points?

Thanks

Clive

Hi Clive,

Have you been through the visa links to see if there is any info there? The visa links are in the "Please read..." post.

Also check out google for the CFA (Country Fire Authority) and Metropolitan Fire Board. There are different websites for each state.

Have you been in touch with an agent? The first consultation is usually free and we have 2 agents on the forum occasionally - Alan Collett and Liana Allan.

I know that police are in demand but I'm not sure about fire fighters.

Regards,
Karen

Hi Clive,

I've found Graphic Designer on the ASCO list 1220.0 - Australian Standard Classification of Occupations (ASCO) Second Edition, 1997

Accounts Clerk is also on the list 1220.0 - Australian Standard Classification of Occupations (ASCO) Second Edition, 1997

If your wife meets those requirements you could also apply as her being the main applicant on a Skilled - Independent visa or possibly the Designated Area Sponsored visa (but that's only if you want to live in Perth as the applicant must live in the State of the sponsor).

I wouldn't think that the fire fighting would gain you any points.

You've definitely got a few options so I'd recommend you get advice from a migration agent. The first consultation is usually free without obligation, and approach at least 3 agents (making sure that that they are on the MARA list).

Good luck

Dolly
