Best regards.

I dont want to get my hopes up too high....But your post came through just as I was researching 'NVQ's' for my husband (which to be honest would not be ideal,in more ways than one) And after reading the link that was attached, I cant help but smile It seems though they may be some light at the end of the tunnel, hopefully.

My husband would have no problem with his skills being assessed, he carries out his work to a very high standard, does regular work for many builders & has a fab portfolio of roofs that he has done on houses, that look stunning.

One question I do have if you would know the answer... Would you know who this may possibly be carried out by?

have their competencies confirmed by a recognised industrial or occupational licence

& also when it states

Skill Stream B applicants will be required to have at least 4 years of "employment"

Im hoping that also means 'self employment' also?

Thankyou so much for your help,
Kind Regards,
Kelly.

We did not know what to do so after many months of searching we got this companys name and contacted them they are call australian construction services ( Acts) for short what they do is they come out and assess you on site and you have to gather all docs showing you have 4 plus years in the same trade now it does cost £3500 sterling but at the end if you are sucessful you get your australian qualification which in turn you can apply through path way E. I will let you know how we get on with TRA but give the guys a shout they are really lovely and they will give you the low down. the web site is trade train google that name and it will come up let me know how you get on.
Hiya Joanne,

Hows your application going? I tried to do a google on the 'australian construction services' but couldnt get the company up that you were talking about?

One of my husbands friends, a builder, in a very similair situation, has just been granted his visa, under pathway E, so I am going to meet with his wife & discuss who she used etc..

Be great to hear from you, love to know how your application is going, not many people on the forum are going through pathway E (lucky things!)

Kelly.

Kelly,

The new TRA Skill Streams come into effect from 01/09/2008, so it is possible you will have to consider the new TRA pathways under their recently released document rather than the present Skill Pathway E:

Best regards.
