Default Retirment visa

can anyone please tell me how much money we would need for a retirement visa, our son and daughter in law live in Perth, but we have 2 other grown up children in the UK, that means we do not 50 % of our children in AU. Thanks

Hi rating12,

Welcome to the forum.

Have you checked on DIAC website? I had a look and found this but you may find something else as well.

You can't apply for parent visas (as you pointed out) since most of your children are outside Australia.

You can't apply for Retirement visa 410 if you are a first time applicant:
Retirement Visa (Subclass 410)

There is an investor retirement visa (405) and for that you need assets of A$750,000 that can be transfered to Australia and no dependent children. If you want to live in regional Australia it's only A$500,000. There's also income minimum - check it out on the DIAC website to make sure you qualify in all the categories:
Investor Retirement (Subclass 405)

Let us know how you get on,
Karen
