Default Subclass 457 still processing

Need a kind advice from you all. I got a job in Melbourne , and company has applied for my subclass 457 on 28th july. However, status for sponsorship and nomination still shows,
28/07/2010 Application received - processing commenced

Company is too small , will there be any impact on the decision due to this ? I mean will it be rejected?
Company has hired Immigration agent base on Sydney who has applied for my subclass 457.

Please share your experience!

Mine was lodged 28 July as well and was approved in 12 days. Company I am working for only has 10 employees in Australia. I am #11! I was planning on a 2 month wait and booked my flight accordingly, so I won't arrive u till end of September.

Are you on 457?
Are you planning to apply for permanent residency?
I heard with new processing times it's going to take 18 to 48 months least unless your application is on ENS.
To me looks like too risky business to migrate to AUS, if got laid off go back after 28 days...

Yes, I am on a 457. I plan to apply for permanent residency after 2 years with my employer. Yes, if you are laid off on a 457 you have 28 days to find new employment. However, if that fails, your employer has to pay to send you back home.

Hi Jack,

I'm in a position where my company is processing the 457, can I ask what was required by you?

I've been told to scan my passport/ degree certificate and get a medical from a Panel doctor approved by DIAC. As well as get health insurance, is there anything else to do?

Regards

Roh

That sounds about all that was required by me, but did not have to do medical. That maybe because U.S. does not have a reciprical health arrangement and I have to get private insurance. My degree is glued between 2 pieces of glass in it's frame, so I had to take a picture and scan it in :-)
