Red face a little worried !!!

We have decided that a move to australia would be great for us but there are so many things going through my head I dont know where to start.
Has anyone used an agency that they would recommend for a good price and great advice and help.?
We are looking at maybe moving to Adalaide. I would like to find some web pages for schools in the area, I have been trying for ages and dont seem to be having any luck. Help please. I really need to know about schools as I have a 10 year old, a 6 year old and I am expecting another baby in 2 mths time.!
I will leave it to that for now otherwise I will forget what I am on here for (hormones ha ha!) I hope someone can help. Thanks

Hi Andreacdgd,

Welcome to the forum.

Have you checked out the sticky posts at the top of the forum? The "Please read" and the "Thinking of emigrating" have a lot of info to help you including links to schools.

If you search through the threads (top row with black background - 3rd from the right) you'll find recommendations for agents and their approximate costs at the time people used them. First consultations are usually free, and you want an agent that is registered with MIA and/or MARA (see "Please read" post). There are 2 agents who are sometimes on this forum - Alan Collett and Liana Allan. They are based in Australia but I think that Alan also has offices in the UK.

Before you start checking into schools you want to make sure that you can get visas to come into Australia. It can be harder than some people assume so you need to start there really.

I'm based in South Australia although I'm about 400kms south east of Adelaide. So if you have any questions about the state ask away and I'll answer your questions (or point you in the right direction ).

Regards,
Karen

Hi there,

Karen is right, you should probably make sure first that you actually have enough points to be able to apply for a visa. When you know that, then start you can start on doing your research.

We used George Lombard Welcome to Austimmigration | George Lombard Consultancy Pty. Ltd. who was excellent. As Karen also said, there are also 2 agents who sometimes post on here.

Here are a couple of websites that may be of help re schools:

Schools and Education in Adelaide South Australia

Department of Education and Children's Services (DECS)
(top right of the page under 'list' you'll find an A-Z of schools in South Australia

Let us know how you get on!

Dolly
