Default 457 visa approved

Hi everyone,

My 457 visa has finally been approved today, process took only one month but the waiting seemed like an eternity

Timeline is as follows:

7th july 2010 - visa application lodged
14th july 2010 - health requirements finalised
20th july 2010 - application being processed further
4th august 2010 - status changed to applicant approved

I'm going to book my flight for melbourne tomorrow itself, departure planned for 13th september.

Oh ok, well yes you can try other options but continue to send CVs, i'm sure in Data Warehousing, you can be sponsored on a 457 visa to Australia itself.

Best of luck to you,
Cheers

Thanks everyone.

Pankaj, you'll keep you guys posted.

About my sponsorship, it was kind of unexpected. I did some research on IT consultancies specialized in Information management in australia and then sent a couple of CVs directly to those companies.

The first reply I got was positive and I managed to go through their recruitment process (3 phone interviews and 1 by webcam). After that, the employer lodged a 457 nomination which was approved in less than a week. Everything has been pretty straightforward, the hardest part for me were the interviews, the 3rd one (technical interview) lasted two hours and was quite detailed.
