Question Letter from ACS reg ASCO to ANZSCO

Hi all,

I have applied for 2231-79(SAP) and its under process. Recently I wrote to them nominating ANZSCO code Developer Programmer 261312 for my application and I got the following mail as reply. Any comments and suggestion on the PIM2 , PIM3 and the contents of the letter is highly welcome. Thanks in Advance.

Dear XXXX,

If the application has been lodged with the ACS and its assessment is in progress:

A letter/fax (signed) from the applicants is required

requesting the application (the way it was submitted) to be considered under PIM3 Guidelines;

stating that they read and understood Summary of Changes to PASA Guidelines (February 2010) document nominating ANZSCO occupation

No additional documents are allowed to be provided.

In this case, the application will be reviewed free of charge. Two result letters will be issued (ASCO and ANZSCO). Please take note that the application may not be suitable under PIM3 based on the documents provided under PIM2.

If there is such concern, upon receipt of ASCO result letter, applicants must submit new PASA application, targeting criteria under PIM3. Full fee must be paid.

Consent letters may be faxed.

Kind regards,

Hi, what kind of comments are you looking for? Is this letter not clear enough for you or you would just like to initiate a general discussion about it. Do you have more specific questions about the letter?
When did you lodge your application to ACS?
I think I might be in the similar position. I lodged my application on May 21st and my status is currently "With Assessor".

Question Letter from acs

Hi smr.jck

The letter states that I can't provide more docs to support my case for ANZSCO code, I might not be eligible for the same with the docs provided and that I might have to pay for reassesing if opted. This is what is confusing me now

1. What if I don't proceed with nominating any ANZSCO code and let them to do the mapping for me.
2.With their mapped ANZSCO Code assesment letter, will I get a chance for free reassesing.
3.The Pros and Cons of proceding with nominating a ANZSCO code myself.

Thanks for your time. Any Comments Welcome.

Hi,
my understanding from info available on ACS site:
1. I don't think they'll do any mapping. They'll just give you an ASCO code. Mapping is considered by DIAC and the rules have been given here: Skilled Occupation Lists (Formerly Known as Form 1121i) in Schedule 1 to 4 depending on which type of visa are you seeking for

2. As I've said, I think you'll get an ASCO code if you don't do anything. After that I think you won't have an option of free re-assessment since your outcome letter won't be dated between May 1st and July 1st. I think you'll be able only to try the re-validation (find more details about re-validation in PASA Guidelines) which costs 200 AUD.

3. If you don't do anything, I believe you'll get an ASCO code, most probably 2231-79 (since you are a SAP professional). ACSO code 2231-79 is mappable to several ANZSCO codes according to http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/sol-schedule4.pdf (Schedule 4), but it isn't mappable to any ANZSCO code according to http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/sol-schedule3.pdf (Schedule 3). This means that with 2231-79 you won't be able to apply for GSM visas (e.g. 175), but you'll be able to apply for sponsored visas (e.g. 176, 886, 475, 487). If you get an ANZSCO code (now or later by re-validation), you'll be able to apply for any type of visa you want.

Please be aware that this is just my personal opinion and please re-check this by reading available information on ACS website or by contacting them directly.

Just a question, from whom did you get this letter? My application was also in progress on July 1st (now is with assessor) and I've asked my assessment officer if I can change my nominated ASCO code to ANZSCO code and she's told me no. I've also asked her manager the same question, but she's also told me no. So I wonder how come they've told you that you can change your nominated ASCO code.

Hi smr.jck

Thanks for the info.

I clearly understand they don't do the mappings. But after 1st jul as ACS will assess a visa applicant's nominated skilled occupation according to the ANZSCO standard they won't just give out letters in ASCO code ( In particular for applicants who are suitable under PIM3).

What I mean by saying ACS Mapping is this:

Because previously with some applications ACS has overwritten applicants nominated code with the occupation/experience relavent ASCO code, Will they adapt the same for ANZSCO standard aswell or will they just issue 261399 code for all 2213-79 and so..

That letter is from HELEN in ACS. My application is "IN PROCESS" now. I wrote to them nominating ANZSCO code for my ASCO code application and that's the reply I got from them. I'm not sure if "IN PROCESS" and "WITH ASSESSOR" makes that difference. Hope it's of help. Ping me if you need more info on that .

Nobody can know that. I believe that they'll probably try to give the most relevant ANZSCO code, but I'm just guessing.

Thanks for this info. Anyway I can't do anything now since I've already got a "registered post no" which I believe means that they have already sent my result letter to me.
