Default missed vetassess appointment

Have just been informed by our case worker that vetassess have missed us off their list of practical skills tests and the next one is not until July, which unfortunately is too late to lodge the application of the visa as my husband turns 45 at the beginning of july. My case worker has spoken to vetasses and they said there are three options available which are :
1) someone from vetassess flies over from oz to carry out practical assessment

2) They ask for special circumstances to be taken into consideration from the DIAC and lodge visa application with assesment outcome to follow

3) they are willing to fly my husband all expenses paid to either India or Sri Lanka to carry out the assesment there

I was just wondering if anybody has undertaken the practical skills assesment if so was it in April and what did the test consist of?

Default Visa Application Age

Hi
All i can tell you is my case worker told us the application had to be lodged before I am 45. Things might have changed recently but when we started the progress back in July last year we were told 45 .

Might be worth while to just check up on it independently, not through your case worker.
As I said forms from a month ago stated 55 years as definite. "Preferred age" would be 45 but 55 definite unless you have special skills/ qualifications for older than 55 years.....

For most Australia visas you definitely have to apply BEFORE you are 45 years old. This was confirmed recently on another post by Alan Collett (an agent). Just having had a look at the visa website (see "PLEASE READ...." post) the only exceptions I could find to that was the working visa (18 -30) and the business talent visa (up to 55). The other business visas all say up to 45 years of age.

Regards,
Karen

For which visa is that? I'm going by the government website for ages. If anyone is in doubt please contact an agent since I'm not one

Karen

Hi there,

This must be a very stressful time it must be for you at the moment.

So, has anything been decided yet? My money is on No. 2!

Whatever the outcome...good luck. I know being up against any bureaucracy can be daunting, but the DIAC has always been very fair.

Dolly
