Hi Michellemarie,

There is a link to a school website in the "Please read..." post - I'm not sure if that will answer any of your questions.

Other than that I can't help - not in Brisbane and no kids.

Regards,
Karen

Hi there,

Of all the things you go through in arranging the move over to Australia it is making sure you get your children's education sorted.

For us, it was the most important part. We moved to Victoria last year, we'd been lucky enough to come on a reccie trip a couple of years before that, so we knew the area we wanted to make our home. Initially, we chose Mornington. Our boys were going to go to Mornington Secondary School. But, on doing more research, we found that the best school in the area was in Frankston South. So, although in time we will move down to Mornington, at the moment the boys and their education come first, so we live within the school zone of Frankston High. We knew nothing of the schools here, but managed to find people that have children going to schools in the area, which helped us make up our minds.

It's a shame that there isn't an OFSTED equivalent here in Australia. It would make the choosing process a lot more easier.

I'm sorry I can't help with recommendations for schools in Brisbane, but if there are any other questions you've got, just ask away.

Dolly

I have a list of the Top Queensland Schools for the [Link to own website removed by moderator ]

[Added by moderator] Link to http://www.naplan.edu.au/schools/schools.html direct

Quote:
The following schools achieved at least 95% of students at or above the National Minimum Standard benchmark, in EVERY subject and in EVERY year tested.

They are therefore classed as being in the “High Levels of Performance” class of the NAPLAN 2009 tests.
Matthew Flinders Anglican College is included on the list, with between 98% and 100% for all subjects and years.

Hi,
I am looking for information regarding the age children start the next year at school. I also would like to know when the next educational year starts and lastly at what age do children move from junior school to High school?
We are moving to Warragul or Sale ,(Vic) in the New Year and have a 6 yr old (b/day in August and a 10yr old (b/day in December).
Thanks in anticipation
Pete and Jue
