Default Thinking of emigrating?

If you’re just starting out on deciding whether to emigrate to Australia or not, here are some guidelines to help you along the way:

1. Which visa to apply for
Department of Immigration and Citizenship

2, Are your skills are on the SOL list?
Do you have a Skilled Occupation? - Workers - Visas & Immigration

or Critical Skills List

http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...kills-list.pdf

3. Do you have enough points?
What is the points test? - Workers - Visas & Immigration

3. Your age
(you must be under 45 years of age at the time of submission of your main application)

4. Your qualifications/work experience

5. If you decide to use a migration agent, always make sure they are members of MARA (Migration Agents Registration Authority) or MIA (Migration Institute of Australia). Ring at least 3 agents to compare what they will do for you and how much their fees are.
Migration Agents Registration Authority
http://mia.org.au/

I always think it’s wise to phone an agent when you’re just starting out. Their first consultation is usually free, without obligation. It could save you no end of time getting the right facts at the very start.

And lastly, look at the sticky at the top of the forum page "please read.....". There's heaps of info that you'll find very useful.

Good luck!
