175 visa or sponsorship?

Hi there

I am new the this forum. My husband and I wan't to migrate on a 175 visa, but know we tries to get a sponsor while we are waiting for the skill assesment to be prooved. IF we get a sponsor and move to Oz on a different Visa, will we then be able to apply for a permanent visa when we are there, or how will this work ?

If you are going for a 175 visa why are you trying to find a sponsor too?

We just think that while waiting for the skill assesment go through we might as well can try to be sponsored, because it should get us downunder faster ? ;-)

Hi Mette,

Most people go for one or the other in my experience on the forum.

The skilled independent visa gives you more flexibility to live where you want you and to do anything you want to.

The sponsored visa ensures you have a job but you have to live in the are of sponsorship and obviously do that job for a set number of years.

People can certainly apply for permanent visas after being sponsored. If you check out the "Please read..." post there are links to the visa types and on the website it goes through what visa you can apply for once you are in Oz.
