job prospects in Australia

my bf and i are both engineers, mechanical and computer respectively, with about 4 years experience in our fields.

Our Australian PR application is in process, in the meantime i am researching on the best location/city for our migration.

Which city/state would have the best prospects for our experience and qualification? How much salary can be expected?

p/s - i've found this forum to be really informative with the friendly members and moderators, and i am already looking forward to being in australia asap

My own personal opinion is either Melbourne or Sydney.

Have a look at SEEK - Australia's no. 1 jobs, employment, career and recruitment site or Job Search - Australian jobs - Job listing - Find a job - CareerOne . They both have a search engine whereby you put your job title in, with some specific keywords. This will give you a rough idea as to how much you can expect to earn.
