Visa Questions???

It appears that I may need to apply for a state/territory nominated visa (137) or skilled independent regional (495), does anyone understand how this works??
Would I need to have a job offer prior to moving to Aussi or is it that you have to work within a given area and then apply once you are there?

Hi,

Have a look at the sticky at the top of the forum "PLEASE READ....". There's a link to the DIAC website which will detail both visas and their requirements.

As far as I'm aware, I don't think you need to have a job for you to apply. And yes, there will be a requirement for you to work in a "low population growth metropolitan or regional area of Australia" for a certain period of time.

What I would do is write down all the questions you have and then phone a migration agent. Alternatively, you could ask the 2 migration agents that post on here for their advice (Alan Collett and Liana Allen).
