Default sponsorship, holiday, or collage.???

Hi guys, hope you are all well and happy ( your in oz of course your happy)
Question,so got to get sponsored and not on skills list, can for example a company sponsor me for a job not on the skills list?
and next, my friends in Perth have said just come out for a holiday for as long as you can and get interviews sorted with jobs that will sponsor.
do you think that is a good option,
or, get temp visa and go out there and go to collage and learn a skill.
what ya think???????

got a h.g.v. class 2 licence, and got 12 years managment experience in sub prime finance field. and in my youth lots of building work and civil engineering.

Hi Daryl,

To be sponsored by a company I think your job will need to be on the skills list. Have a look at the sticky at the top of the forum page "PLEASE READ.....". It will detail the different visas categories and their requirements.

I always recommend seeking the advice of a migration agent. Their first consultation is usually free without obligation and a 5 minute phone call would probably give you your answers.

well now theres a thing, ive spoken to me mates in Perth, who were so confused as to why i have been turned away by agencies with my managment background, i was told to look at the AIM web site ( australian institute of managment ) which gives me 60 points for my skill even though not diplomas or qualifications, but because i have done it for so many years. so now im thinking why would they not want to help more than putting my c.v on there job site, but telling me that they dont hold up to much hope.
now this site was for SOL's not MODL's so i dont know if it different. but will continue to look into it.
NO RETEAT NO SURENDER. Daryl.

Hi there Daryl,

Here's the MODL list and info Is your occupation in demand? - Workers - Visas & Immigration

TBH I'm still not sure what the difference is between SOL and MODL!

So, have you phoned an agent to ask their advice? They shouldn't take a fee for the first consultation call and it will be without obligation. They'll be able to tell you straight away what your chances are and how to go about applying.

Love the attitude!!!!

Dolly

Hi again Dolly, yes have spoke to a number of agents seems if not on modl no real interest, the sol list is one with points on but no automatic entry if you know what i mean, this is more for sponsorship.
i might just come over and get some interviews sorted, so much better face to face.
thanks for the info though.
Daryl (future expat)

Hi Daryl,
I've just added it to the "Please read..." post in the first section. That now has links to the points test info and the points test itself for skilled migrants.

Regards,
Karen

Hi Daryl,

If you google "visa points calculator" there are a lot of migration companies which have a calculator...one of the best is on the visaonline website.

Hi Guys thanks again for your help, have got a couple more companys that sound like they are more interested in helping the slightley harder case, like ours, so we live in hope again, as my points are only 75, is it true that a permanent resident can help with sponsorship as our friends have been there for over a year?? hope all is well with the world down under, daryl future resident of Perth.

Hi Daryl,

My understanding is that sponsorship from permanent residents in only in the case of close family. If you check out the visa types in the "Please read...." post that will give you more info on that.

If they have a business I'm not sure if they can sponsor you as an employee, and what would need to be proved on both sides before that could happen.

Regards,
Karen
