Question Visa confusion

Hi, I am planning to move to Oz with with my older sister and her family for 2+ years, however I am getting really confused about the best visa to apply for. My initial feeling was to get a working holiday visa, and then either try to get sponsorship once out there, or to do the seasonal work option bit so that I can extend it for the whole 2 years. Upon looking into it further, I have noticed that peole are sayng that It is harder to get sponsorship than I was lead to believe. My other option is to get a state sponsored full visa (as I only qualify for 110 points, so cant get the independent one!), but is it best to apply for this from the UK, or to go over on a working holiday visa and then apply from within Australia for the state sponsored one, and which way would be cheaper?!

Thank you!

Hi there,

Welcome to the forum.

Have you looked at the sticky at the top of the forum page "PLEASE READ...". There's a link to the DIAC website which details all the visas available, including working/seasonal and their restrictions.

With the state sponsored visa, your skills must be on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL). Also, you will have to live and work in a Specified Regional Area.

Have you thought of asking a migration agent for some advice? Their first consultation is usually free without obligation.

Dolly
