Default the move

Hi Guys,

Looking for some help.

Me and my Girlfriend just spend 3 month is australia travelling and have no decided that we would like to move across.

We are both Graduates, She is an accountant and i work in contracts on the oil industry.

Wondering what you guys thought would be the best way to go. We could get the travelling visa and try and get sponsered when we are over there. Or would it be best just to apply for the full visa and move over.

Any advice would be great.

thanks

paul

Hi Paul,

Welcome to the forum.

Have you checked out the "Please read...." post towards the top of the forum? That has links to the Aussie immigration site so you can check out the visas available and also see if your skills are in demand.

If you go the sponsorship visa route then you will be tied to a company and a place for about 2 years (depending on the agreement), whereas if you go the skilled independent route (if you have enough points) then you can live anywhere and do any occupation.

We decided to move over after spending 1 month travelling around so I do understand the decision We did come back a few times after that just to make sure though.

Regards,
Karen
