Default permanent visa

I have just been to the expo in Johannesburg.
I was told I need to start the applcation for the permanent visa.
Would this be the semi / skilled visa?

Berilyn

Hi Berilyn,

If you go to the immigration links in the "Please read..." post, that will take you through to the different types of visa that are available.

I hope the expo was useful for you - did you get any questions answered there that you'd like to share with us?

Regards,
Karen

Hi Berilyn,

There's a lot to consider when applying for a visa - as Karen said, have a look at the sticky at the top of the forum. Take time and read it carefully, there's a lot of info there.

The questions you need to be looking at are:

1. Your occupation (is it on the Skills in Demand list)
2. Your qualifications/skills
3. Your age

Fire away with questions once you've had a read.

Dolly

Hi Kaz

I found the expo very informative but also a bit daunting.

I have Bookkeeping qualifications, am studying towards a Bachelor of Commerce through correspondence so therefore am not a qualified accountant / financial manager yet. Therefore, no one was very keen on helping as I am not really qualified and what they are looking for. I have the practical experience but not the piece of paper yet.

In Australia they are very keen on their bits of paper as well as experience.
