Default Employment Agencies Is Oz

Hi there everyone.

Is there anyone out there who can give some information on Employment Agencies? Our reason for asking this is that we have received communcation from Workforce Solutions and they have forwarded us a load of questionnaires to complete despite the fact that they have all the information requested in the Resume. These questionnairs are repetative in their make up and it seems as though they are trying to catch us out in some way. Is this normal practive for Employment Agencies in Oz as it certainly is not the case in the UK.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Karen & Steve

hi there

i will be interested to see the replies you get as my husband has received the same forms/requests from workforce solutions. Ive yet to come across anyone who has used them and moved to oz with their help but hoping someone on here has.

We are going to Brisbane on holiday in June and are staying with friends only a few miles from their office, so my husband is going to go in and check them out. I'll let you know how we get on.

Hi Samgeordie,

I think there are probably a few people who have heard from this company. It will be really interesting to know what your husband finds out when he goes along and meets them. Has he completed and forwarded his forms back yet?

I of course will keep you posted with any other responses that I receive, having said that though if I am thinking straight you will receive any responses that I do.

I envy your holiday plans. We are to busy scrimping and scraping all the pennies to pay for the Visa and necessary documentation.

Good luck.

Karen

Hi Karen & Steve,

We dealt with a few employment agencies (albeit online). All we did was fill in a basic form, attached CV and that was it. Nothing elaborate at all.

Hi Karen,

My husband filled in an application form (questionnaire?) at a local employment agency here as well as had to submit a CV. A lot of the application didn't apply to him and it didn't take very long although it was about approx 6 pages long. He had to do this for the 3 employment agencies he joined. It did ask about his experience and the different levels of experience he had. This was for manual work.

Regards,
Karen

Hi Karen

He has just been looking at the forms tonight, we are thinking that we will be better applying for a permanent visa and then using them as a recruitment agency once their. Im not keen on going on a temporary visa when we will have to sell the house family responsibilities. There doesn't seem any guarantees of them getting you permanent residency, think you have to do this yourself.

No harm in filling in the forms and getting more info though.

Hi Samgeordie,

I think our situation is slightly different to yours in that Steve is an Australian citizen and is going to sponsor me on a Spouse Visa therefore we will not require sponsorship. We were also told at the expo that because Steve and I have been married for 14 years and have a child there is a high chance that I will be granted a permanent visa from the off. This is possible despite the fact that he has lived in the UK for 35 years. We also will be selling our house.

I agree there is no harm at all in filling out the forms and this we shall do as Steve having a job to go out to would be great.

Regards

Karen

Hi Karen nice to hear from you again.

Once again you have managed to settle my mind. It seems as though quite a lot of info is requested to ensure that the agencies get the right kind of people especially if they are going to be paying out loads for sponsorship.

Just to give you an update on our progress we have now submitted the application for Kayleigh's citizenship, once this is received we will apply for her passport and then sort out my Police Check and medicals and then submit the Visa application. In total I think this should be in about 10 weeks or so. The Australian High Commission in London have quoted between 3 and 10 weeks for the process. Lets keep everythinbg crossed that it all goes through ok.

Regards

Karen
