Default GSM 175 related Query

My cousin got into CSL with ASCO 2231-79 and he has got IELTS band score 7.5 ( less than 7 in speaking)

Although now he has got the required 120 points for GSM 175 visa he wants to re appear for IELTS again to get above 7 in all categories so that he will get the maximum available 25 points. He wants to do this to protect himself from the proposed point’s system changes in Apr 2010.

He wants to submit his visa application today (CSL + IELTS 6) and wants to know whether there is any provision to submit the new IELTS (provided he gets 7 in the next test) certificate in future.

According to me once you submit the application to DIAC you cannot modify the same. Points secured while submitting the application are final.

Could you please guide me on this?

If you cousin has scored more than 6 in "each module", then it should be a problem to apply with respect to "English language requirement".

And he can upload the new score later day after he has logged his 175 application. CO will consider the score if it gets him that extra points.

Please note that CO is getting allocated to case once the 28days timeline for document upload is completed. This is a new development that I have seen for the Jan & Feb applicants by looking at the following URL's,

Profiles & Timelines - Australia Migration, Visa & Citizenship Application
BEupdate - Timeline Spreadsheet for Australian Visa Applications

can you please post the point breakup for your cousin, please?
If he already has 120, getting an extra 5 point does no value-add to the 175 application.

He alredy has the required 120 points but he also worried that new points might bring it down so he wants to do IELTS again and secure another 10 points extra

Points breakdown is as follows

Age - 25 points
English language ability - 15 points
Nominated skilled occupation - 60 points
Specific work experience - 10 points
Australian work experience - 10 points

the point system matters only at the time of application. you have to meet the criteria then. post filing if rules are changed, it doesnt affect your application.

Hey Satpal your case seems to be bit strange , Co's are really on F1 track these days around 4 of my friends who submitted their docs in the month of Nov 09 and Dec 09 have already got their visa stamping done.

Dont worry things will start moving for you as well just like Force India F1 Car
Good Luck.
