Moving from Singapore to Melbourne

will be relocating to melbourne (city area) from singapore come mid-year, and just wondering how much expenses a single female would incur a month - rough estimate, of course.

intending to rent accomodation for the first few months, at least. talking about the basic expenses - food, accomodation, utilities, etc. no winin'-&-dinin' involved.

and what's this credit rating i've read so much about?

I've split your post out from the cost of living post since you may have other questions to ask.

To look at rentals see the property links in "Please read...." post (if you haven't already been there). You've already been on the "Cost of Living" post so the figures there give you an idea of what to expect - no-one has given us figures for Melbourne yet.

The credit rating is how banks (and other financial institutions) decide whether to lend someone money - whether you are a good risk.
