Different Visa Types?

Can someone please clear this issue up for me.
I am looking to go to Australia on the one year work/travel visa and hope to get sponsorship with a company there. Failing that I will return to UK and apply for the skilled Migrant visa.
Does anyone know if you go on the one year work/travel visa will this have any affect in applying for the Migrant/Skilled visa??
I know that you can only go on the one year work/travel visa once.

it is my understanding that you can in fact extend a working visa for a second visa as long as you agree to seasonal work fruit picking or sheep shearing for 3 months, this has to be undertaken in certain area,s of oz, not sure where as we haven,t got that far yet. dont know about the rest of yr q ... just thought i,de let you know about the available extention

The issue I have seen several time with WHM visaholders wanting to apply for a skilled visa is the inability to meet the threshold skilled work experience requirement for the skilled visa (12 months in the last 2 years in skilled work).

I say this as WHM visaholders tend not to work in skilled positions when in Australia, and if they do the evidence that is available tends not to be the best.
