hello to you all, hope your all well
my first post, thanks for reading it
have i left it to late to apply for a visa,im 45 in 14 months time,im an electrician, hopeing to send my paper assesment off in the next couple of weeks then hopeing to do my practical in july,or the one after that,im assumeing the sub 175 visa is what i need, and i was going to use an agent,so, is there a big risk that i will not get a visa granted as i will run out of time,or is it a small risk, thankyou for your time

Hi there,

As long as your visa application is submitted before you turn 45 I think you'll be OK.

Usually, you pay your agent first.

hi. my hubbie was 44 and 4 months when we applied. you can apply anytime BEFORE your 45th. the application date will be frozen at the date is was received by immi. hope this makes sense. also this is just what we were told by our agent so dont qoute me if wrong. if you want to doulble check just ring an agency and check, most agencies will give an intial consultation at no cost. good luck
karen

thank you for that,i was under the impression that you had to have a certain amount of information to submit to immi for them to then post you a visa application,to then complete, will have to see what the agent says

i also asked my agent when i spoke to her earlier today and she says as long as you submit your 'main' application before your 45th b'day it,s fine...could be a week before and would still have to be accepted. i would highly recommend that you check before employing an agent that they are able and willing to do your application on-line, it definately seems to be much much quicker than paperbased applications. unfortunatly we are paperbased and have now been waiting 9mths since our main application was submitted, before this we had to get tra approval so in total have now been waiting 15 months. hope this helps and good luck

it is a very long drawn out process, the wait at times will be very painful and at times we have truly felt we had wished we,de never started this, we know deep down though it,s what we want and we cant do a thing about the wait so you just have to try and put it to the back of your mind. people say it is more than worth it but of course we have yet to find out, we will get a decision eventually and worrying is not going to make them go any quicker. good luck, let us know how you go.
