Moving to Perth

Hi All!

I am intending to go to Perth with my girlfriend on a working holiday visa. I'm a civil engineer which is on the critical skills list. Is it possible for us to work in temporary jobs in Perth until we are full settled in the area, then apply for the skilled worker visas and hopefully get permanent jobs thereafter? or would we have to wait until the 12 month working visa had expired before applying for permanent residence?

any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi John, my boyfriend and i too are looking to move to Perth. I am hoping to venture down the same route as you..working visa first before aplying for full time, however he has a visa while i hope to do more travelling and temping work . let me know how you get on. There is so much info and clauses on everything that its all a bit confusing for me!
