Hi Dolly, The list of things to do ..... absolutely fantastic and really useful - just what we all need, a list made up by someone who has already been through the maize of steps!
We are applying for Business Owner 457 visa. State Sponsorship already granted and Full Visa application was lodged on Monday - wish us luck. What happens now? How long might this take? When will we be asked to go for medicals? Also when is police checks done?
We are using Migration lawyers in Brisbane who are great. Unbelievable amount of paperwork was necessary... lawyer certified copies of no end of paperwork and documents, estate agents valuations of property was fine for State Sponsorship however now for the final visa lodgement 'DIAC' we had to pay for a professional valuer to value the property - completely dead money as that valuation is totally useless for anything else whatsoever !! V.cross.
We have 7 family members in Bunbury ranging from 6 months to 66 yrs. Our daughter is 10 years old and her name is down for 2 schools with acceptances on both. Just can't wait to get there and start making new friends etc. Things to sell here in UK: business, house, boat, cars still hope to be there by end Jan for the start of the school year in Oz. Best wishes J & P & L

Hi there,

Welcome to the forum.

If you look at the sticky at the top of the forum page "please read: helpful websites...." there are a couple of timeline websites so you can gauge how long your visa type is taking.

As far as the police checks and medicals are concerned, it's best to wait to be asked.

Well done for getting schools sorted, that was our main priority when we moved over. When that was sorted we could relax a bit more!

Good luck!
Dolly

Dolly,

Good show on the list you put up here. Very informative.
Would be great as a booklet for immigrants.
