Kejal, all airlines allow 40 kg plus hand baggage per person for those immigrating.

Hi anj,

Actually they don't (well not from the UK anyway). When we phoned around to check only Singapore Airlines and I think Emirates gave you the extra allowance.

Oh alright, I did not know that but when I checked the sites of airlines, most of them had 40kg for immigrants. Maybe thats the case fr flights from India.

And most of the airlines only give the extra allowance for validation flights, so if you validate and then move across later you are not allowed the extra allowance - that's what happened to us moving from the UK.

Wow, that is a good tip about the extra baggage. You could move to Brisbane if you like it hot, then you can visit the lovely Sunshine Coast on the weekends.
