Hi guys, new here and this may sound like a strange 1st question.

Im just getting my skills assessed for a 175 csl visa, but I want to start the application process in the new year and im not in a rush to complete it. Are there very strict timescales in which I have to provide the various info and payments required?

Cheers

Hi there,

Welcome to the forum.

I wouldn't say that DIAC are 'strict' in their timescales but when they ask for certain details it's down to you to provide them generally as soon as you can, otherwise it just delays even further the torturously slow process. The only details that have time constraints are the police checks and medicals.

remember, the rules keep changing, you might be in the CSL today, and taken off tomorrow.

they generally give you 28-30 days to provide the requested documents but incase you have a valid reason for the delay, you can always inform them and they extend it further. but trust me, once u apply for the visa, u do want things done asap, i applied in sept 08 and cant wait to go.. all i need is the visa
