Question getting house valued today!!!

Hi all, i am getting lots of agents round our house today to give us a valuation and i'm wondering when i should start thinking of putting the house on the market seeing as though we haven't got our visa's sorted yet? don't want to be stuck here trying to sell the house once visa's are done! any thoughts would be appreciated!
thanks sam and family xx

Hi Sam,

It depends on how long your visas give you to move out here. Ours said that you needed to validate the visa in a year and then had 5 years to move over.
So we sold the house after we have the visa approved since our visa took 2 years.

Do you know roughly when the visa approval will come through?

I didn't tell our agents that we were leaving for Australia since agents can tell the buyers that and then they think they have some leverage. We told the agents that we weren't in any real rush and that we were moving to be closer to my parents (we were moving to their spare room ) and that we were end of chain. We put our house on the market in January last year looking for a buyer who would complete in June.

Good luck and don't get too stressed

Karen

Hiya,

We have just put our house on the market with the intention of completing around June time. We have been told that the market is really slow at the moment so maybe give yourself some extra time.

Good luck

Christina

Or be prepared to be either take an offer or be creative
I've heard of people in the USA giving away a free car with their house and maybe that would work in the UK too (depending on the car ).

Regards,
Karen

Hi again,
We had our house valued today and it is going on the market on Monday, as of yet we have not applied for visas. the market seems so slow at the min, however it would just be our luck that it sells, then we will PANIC.

Hi we have just put our house on the market with the intention to move around June also. Already panicking in case it sells too quickly without the results of our visas's. My sister emigrated to Newzealand last year and it took a year to sell her house!

It is really slow at the moment and with half term next week will also be quiet. From what I gather if you put it for an attractive price you can shift it. Hopefully with the rate drop it will restore people confidence.
Good luck
