Default Excess luggage advice?

Heading off to Melbourne in a couple of weeks. Trying to take as little as possible - just a couple of suitcases but don't want to pay excess on second one.

Can anyone advise on cheapest way to get a second case over?

Thanks.

Are you coming for a visit or for a long time?

If for a long time and you don't care how long it takes consider using Seamail.

Another alternative is to take a routing through the USA as they use a piece system and it's more generous than what you get in Europe or Asia.

Contact the local post and ask if they have Sea Mail. That comes by boat and takes months but it's the cheapest.

We used a company in the UK called Excess Baggage for one suitcase to be sent out. We left the suitcase at the company at the airport before checking in. We found then to be pretty reasonable - Excess Baggage Company | Excess Baggage Shipping & Storage Services. See if that's what you're looking for.

We couldn't get the extra luggage allowance since we'd already validated our visa.

Regards,
Karen
