Wink tiler looking for a sponsor

Hello,

I am looking to move to Australia with my family, but i need to find an employer sponsor.
I am an experienced builder & tiler, tiling is my speciality especially be- spoke bathrooms, kitches, and floors and i am currently self employed.
My problem is that i am self taught and therefore i do not have any qualifications.

My wife has family on the gold coast who are prepared to sponsor us, but we also need an employer to sponsor us.Ideally we would like to be on the gold coast but it is not essential.

I can provide a port folio of my works, and references from clients.
Can anyone help please.

Thanks for reading my post.
Mark

Hi Mark,

Welcome to the forum.

Is it for financial reasons that you need to be sponsored by a company rather than just family?

For trades there is usually an assessment so not having qualifications may not be too bad as long as you have a lot of experience. You will need to check though what you need to work out here since you may need to get some certificates before you can trade. I don't know if there is a tiling association out here but it may be worth checking on google (or any other search engine with a .com.au).

Regards,
Karen

Thanks for the info, it is not for financial reasons we need a sponsor, and i am more than happy to work for a company, but in order for me to get a visa i need to have at least 6 years proven track record, i can only supply 3 years at present and by the time i reach 6 years i will be over 45 years old.

Is that even on a family sponsored visa? I didn't know that.

We came in on skilled independent visas and we had to apply before we hit 40 otherwise we wouldn't have had enough points.

Good luck,
Karen

According to a migration agent the only way for us to obtain any sort of permenant visa is through an employer we even considered a 3 year temp visa.If anyone out there knows any different we would be glad of any advice.
We intend to come and invest in the country, we have a house here for sale and have no mortgage on it, and my husband has the skills that are needed on the modl list but it is not being made easy for us.

Thanks,
Anita

Hi Anita,

I would always have a chat with more than one agent if possible (that's for free). We were told by 2 agents that we couldn't get in at all and the third agent said we could, and we arrived in July 2007

Getting into Australia is rarely easy for anyone unless their skills are in demand.

There is a link on the "Please read..." sticky post towards the top of the forum that has the links to the visas (and other info) if you want to check out the visa types for yourself.

Regards,
Karen

hi Anita,

We used Emigration group but if you check through the posts here you will find other agents that have been recommended by people too.

Regards,
Karen
