Happy Australia Day!

Hi everyone,

It's the long Australia Day weekend this weekend, so don't be surprised if anywhere you try to contact on Monday January 28th is closed.

Australia Day

There was a big televised concert from Canberra on Friday night and there will be celebrations throughout the weekend.

This morning we have an Aussie breakfast in the town and awards are given out to people and organisations that have given most to the community, and thanks are given to the local Aborigines as custodians of the land. Then this arvo (afternoon) one of the local schools is doing a BBQ lunch. You can't have a celebration in Summer without a barbie :-)

This is also the day that many expat become citizens, but we still have 18 months to go for that.
