Hi there i am due to mve to Australia in August at the moment i am living in devon and my husband and i have a son who is 8 but a little behind and has austim. I have searched lots of web sites to see were i stand once i am living in Australia for help for him through schooling. At the moment he has one to one but is not statemented as we put that of because the emigration company we went through told us that would stop use getting a visa if not we would have to have a lot of money behind us to fund his schooling. Can any one help or know of a good site i go on.

Hi Dixonclan,

I'm not sure if Centrelink Home Page will deal with this. I know they deal with benefits so it's worth a look. I know that some benefits can't be received for 2 years once you've arrived.

If the agent is saying not to put it down on the visa, have they suggested what happens when you get to Australia and your son needs the extra care?

I don't know whether you've heard this before but I was watching Oprah the other day (probably an old version) and an actress saw a marked improvement in her autistic son by changing his diet. If you haven't tried it yet it may be worth a try...

because of his autisum he does not eat either on bread butter yogurts milk and strawberry milkshake. In england i have seen lots of specialist and even done a tv programme but he is improving but not fast enough. Hopefully all the sun and freash air in Australia will make him improve.
