Are you in Brisbane? We are planning to move to Brisbane soon and I am looking for answers regarding what salary to expect. Do you have any clue about how much is enough for a couple to live a decent life in Brisbane. What about you guys, with how much money you are managing your family and if you can save anything for your selves? Thanks

Do you like Melbourne? I am from India as well but leaving in the UK from many years. Want a change, do you think move to Australia would be a wise choice from your experience. Thanks.

We have 2 kids (7 yo & 11 yo), we plan to buy a house and a car (without mortgage), try to get a job with salary around AUD$5K/mth (take home), do you think we can lead a decent life there? Thanks for your advice in advance.

$5k Per month may not be enough with two kids. Altough I am not sure how much the child education etc costs here, since am single. But still it might not be enough..just my opinion
Thanks

Hey guys

I wanted some info . I got a job paying 4k/month . Is that good enough . My wife will join me later in may , she will also get a job by then . No Kids

Also i wanted to check one thing . I am in Sydney now . Are Melbourne suburbs cheaper than Sydney . Sydney housing is pretty expensive be it rent or buying .

Please do let me know.

Also my work is around circular quay , which are the safe and reasonable area's in terms of renting . I can afford upto 1.5k i guess .

Cheers

Try checking out websites like realestate.com.au and domain.com.au since that will give you the rents for areas in Melbourne and Sydney. It always depends on the area but from what I've heard they are both pretty expensive (I don't live in either of them).

Hi anj1976,
just wanted a clarification re your comment about your expense being 3000 bux, does that include all expense including rents/mortgage for house? can you please provide a rough breakdown. I am an Indian from London coming to Perth in 2-3 months.

Cheers!
