Heading to Melbourne

Hi ,

I'm hoping to move out to melbourne early next year from the UK and would love some advice and to hear from anyone who has relocated successfully.

Applying for jobs just now ( as a nurse) and trying to get my head around all the forms i need to fill in, would love to speak to someone who's done it all before.

welcome to the forum, we too are heading to melbourne, do you have a visa sorted or are you just starting the process?

Australia is an easy place to get used to.....(just think back to the 80's and you have it - Including the humour) and Melbourne is a great city.

This forum has many great links to schools and how-to's. (If you have specific questions (can't help with nursing but everything else - for sure)

hi there! i am also planning melbourne early next year as a nurse. what kind of nursing do you do? i joined healthstaff recruitment to assist me with finding a job and they are really friendly and helpful. just got my job offer two days ago and now its time to get started on my visa!!!

thank you, just starting the process, no visa sorted yet but in the middle of sorting everything out.

When are you going out? How long did the whole thing take you?

Thats great, when are you planning on going out? I work in ICU and was hoping to get a job in the same area, which hospital did you get a job in?

if all goes well im looking at flights for around 28 december and hopefully start early into january. im a mental health nurse, and all i know at present is it will be in one of the acute wards. once my visa is through and i have a start date il know which hospital il be based in! i just cant wait to book my flight!!
