Difficult, as you haven't listed qualifications, certifications, and work experience (i.e. big accountacy, small accountancy?)

Also which city would you intend to live in? The salary also varies by AU city (i.e. Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane).

I would recommend looking at the available jobs on sites like Careerone, Seek, and other job websites to get an initial idea.

Sorry about lack of details. I have MS in Engineering & 7 years experience which included 4 yrs in Operations & 3 yrs in Finance. The location will be Sydney. It's a multi-national industrial firm, so the role will be in Operational Finance. The role will be titled Finance Manager & will have a small team (2-3) reporting.

Also, is it difficult to get Australian work permit & how much time does it take get a work permit?

Thanks for your help.

Hi SingaporePEP:

I can't really say much about the salary as I'm in IT and not Finance. I'd say in general about 90K but again I don't know what the norm is in AU for Finance.

AU visas can take time, but as long as paperwork is in order its usually granted.

A 457 temp visa takes from 4-8 weeks and the sponsored visas (i.e. employer) upto 6 months. If you can try to get the employer sponsored PR visas as you can get more benefits in AU and live here permanently. A 457 requires you to stay with that employer and if you lose it you normally have to leave the country.

In a better economy you can come in as a 457 and then apply for PR later (which is what I did).
