Default Canberra or Adelaide

Hi all,

I am a 25 year old female, lived in Dubai my entire life and I am currently in the beginning stage of my application, i.e. I have done the Vetasses approval and have got a date for the IELTS in Aug.

I have been advised by my agent that with my experience and qualificiations I am eligible either for State Permanent Residencey in Canberra or a Provisional Residency in South Australia.

Howerver SA - Adelaide seems to be a vibrant city with more options. I don't mind living in a quiet place (which is what Canberra seems to be), but feel that since that I don't know anyone I would be more comfortable in a busier place and hopefully have more contact with people.

I would love to know what you guys think about the two cities and whether it is worth to go for a provisional visa in Adelaide and lose out on the PR in Canberra.

Thanks a million,

Merlin

PR visa is better thn provisional visa. When you take state sponsorship, you are tied to the state for just 2 years, post which you are free to go anywhere. for a Long term planning, I would suggest taking sponsorship form ACT and moving on a PR visa

Hi Merlin,

Have you tried using the search facility? If you do a search on those areas in this forum you'll find previous posts what may help.

I like Adelaide, although few people I know would describe it as vibrant. It's one of the smaller State Capitals and I like it because of that. However I've not yet been to Canberra so I can't give you a comparison.

As Anj says the chance for PR immediately does make a difference.

Regards,
Karen

Oh Christ on a bike - NEITHER!!.

Anywhere but these two places.!!

Try Melbourne, Perth, Sydney or Queensland.

Adelaide is kinda plain jane and Canberra is just wierd and dull.
