Unhappy Nearly there !!!

HI All, I'm hopeing to move Australia this year with my partner, I am going on a sponsored visa as I am over 45, I have got a job sorted out i've signed a employment contract, i've been assigned a CO. just waiting for an answer.
The problem is I am in a same sex relationship, we have had a civil partnership ceremony 3 years ago, been together 13 years, but in australia same sex patnership laws have only come in to effect on sponsored visa's on the 1st july 09,
my application was submitted in the middle of june 09, because my new boss in OZ wants me there ASOP which is understandable.the problem is my visa agent thought they could send in the new same sex forms for me and my partner on 1st july 09, but has since found out that any application sent before 1/7/09 can not be ammended.
So my partner will have to travel to OZ on a holiday visa and apply while out there
if unsuccessful we will both have to come back to the UK.we have emailed my CO to see if they have any suggestions.
has any one else come across any problems....Swordfish

Hi Swordfish,

I think the best thing you can do is to ask an agent asap. As you haven't actually got your visa yet, there may a way round it.

Good luck
Dolly

Hiya Swordfish, We too have to make some amendments to our application form although they are small. When we spoke to our migration agent he told me that we would need to email a letter to him that he could forward on explaining the reason for any ammendments. Although this will be just a change of address as well as needing to explain the reason for the delay in us submiiting our medicals as should have been in by Feb 2009, we still need to explain ourselves. What we have decided to do was print of our letter and then Me and Mark will sign it, this can then be scanned and emailed as I didn't want then coming back to us later and saying they needed our signatures.

Best of luck with getting yours ammended

xx Satty

Thanks Satty, all the best with your application too. It's just the waiting each day looking to see if you have a email from immigration saying YES!!
all the best. Swordfish.
