Question Paper based applications - Query

Hi,

I have given all my documents to my migration agent. He is saying that he will filing paper based application with DIAC.

I am not sure about the logic of agents sending paper based applications instead of eApplications. I see many post on agents sending through paper based applications.

Can you guys help me to understand this ?

Thanks.

The only reason that i can understand is that he (your agent) won't have enough limit on credit card to pay the VISA fee online as credit card is the only way to pay fee of online application.

However, there is no big difference between paper based and online application

As immi2Aus said there is no known difference between paper and online application and some of the documents still have to sent by post anyway (that may be for the assessment rather than the main application - can't quite remember).

I trusted my agent to do what was necessary on our behalf and I didn't even know whether the agent submitted our application by post or online.

I would suggest that you trust your agent (as long as they are MIA / MARA registered) to do the work properly on your behalf.

Regards,
Karen

i know some people say that eApplication (a MIA/MARA registered agent actually told me this) is sometimes processed faster than a paper one. Like 2-3 months faster. He suggested that I do the online one, but with no credit card, I ended up doing the paper application. But Im not sure why agents do what they do. I never used the agent I had spoken with.

But hey, if you paid your agent to help you and trust your agent, then why worry about it? Just relax and see to it that agent is filing everything properly.

If you can, don't let your agent to file paper based application. You will have a nightmare in checking status of your visa, every time you have to lodge a PLE to find the status... additionally if you check BEUpdate visa grant for July-09, the ratio of paper-online application grant is awful, mere 5:95 ....

so decide wisely and save yourself from the nightmare .. I'm waiting from more than 12 months, quite straightforward application (at least I believe) but paper based, still no visa ... on the other hand many-many online applicants who applied later than me got their visas, even from the country like Pakistan (no offense to anyone who belong to this country )

You are not supposed to use the name of my country.

You are misquoting me. As I said "already", no offense and everyone knows that security checks takes lot of time due to current Af-pak issues (face the fact), even then few of my fellow forum members on other forums got the visas who applied online.

hey FaithInGod, can you tell how you find the status of your paper application? I am very confused as to what to do. You said something about filing a PLE. What is that, and how do you file it?

Even then, regardless of my country's situation, you are not supposed to use my country's name.
