Default ACS Assessment done

Hi,

I just got my acs assessment done. Thy have given me 2231-11 (systems manager) which is currently not on MODL but which gives me 60 points. And the reason they are mentioning for not assessing as modl is that I didnt give employer references. I just gave statutory declarations.

I was wondering if an appeal to ACS will help, I just make the 120 points dot w./o the MODL..(60+25 for age and IELTS and other 10 for occupation in last 3 out of 4 years)

Pl let me know should I appreal for the acs or apply for my visa ?

thx
Pooja

You can appeal if you are able to provide more information to support getting MODL points (actual references instead of stat decs). If there is no additional documentation I don't see why ACS would consider an appeal.

If you have any coleauge or manager references, then get them and re appeal. otherwise they don't consider the reappeal.

If you have 120 points for sure, then you don't need any extra points to apply for the PR. But if you apply in PR without MODL then it will take longer time then having MODL/CSL.

Hope this helps.

All the best.

thx for the replies.

Thye are asking for the references on the company letter head whcih is making it difficult for me to get the references..The companies are not willing to give detailed references.

Further, before making the appln i had on the forums that stat declarations are enuf and the references may not be required ?

pooja, my husband too got the same asco code, systems manager, and its not to do with not providing references, that is what they feel fits the best in your job profile. I think u must be a systems admin, my husband deploys servers and maintains them. he has worked for microsoft SBS, and now works for a german company and did the entire depolyment, including router setups, networking, firewall, SQL server and is now working on making a tunnel form India office to i guess vietnam or germany or wehrever, i am not sure.. but when u have more thn one thing as ur specialisation, they normally give u systems manager asco cade.

now my suggestion, try getting state sponsorship from ACT, that is the only place that has 2231-11 in their skill list and there is no quota (many codes have a quota attached to them). So you send them your cv and ask if you are fit to apply for the sponsorship. once u hear from them, which would be in about a week or so, apply for it, trust me, u will be there in no time.

we just applied for state sponsorship a few months back, and since we are converting from 175 to 176, our application will take longer thn u sicne u hv not applied yet.

for anything else, or what documents u need for ACT sponsorship, gimme a shout, will assist you.

hi there, I have more than one specialisaion, i was looking for oracle as my specialiation

frankly I am not keen on the state sponsporship, as in that case I will have to go to that particular state only.. I was looking to travellling to aus around march april 2010..hence not in a rush.

I am thinking of not appealing, but filing for my PR..what do you say Anj ?

u can try sponsorship and if u do manage it, go there, u can look for a job in other states and get the state sponsorship transferred.. i was told by an agent a while ago. its a moral obligation but if u do have a job in other state u can do it tht way and if u want to be there by march, u cant make it if u go on plain simple 175 without being in CSL or MODL.

u can try for state sponsorship and try for oracle too.. no harm trying
