Unhappy Csl/modl ??

Hey guys,

Can someone tell me the difference between CSL and MODL ? or is it the same ? My agent told me that we would be applying the 175 visa and we are on the critical check list. The letter i received from ACS says that we are in Group A category. I'm really not sure of any of what these terminologies mean. Also, is there state sponsorship involved in 175 as well? Could someone explain this for me please ? I'm all confused....

hi SRN..

you need to do a lot of reading mate.. start with the please read stick threads. there is a lot of info in there..

the processing is done in the order below

1. employer sponsored
2. State sponsored
3. CSL
4. MODL
5. all others

there is a CSL and MODL list on the immi site. the link is in the sticky threads. yes one can get state sponsorship if your skill is in the state skill list but that is suggested to those who are not on CSL, having state sponsorship changes ur application from 175 to 176. in 176 you do get there fast but you are stuck with the state that sponsors you for 2 years. and CSL and state sponsored applications are processed more or less in teh same time with just a couple of months delay in CSL application processing.

Dont be confused, do read the stucky threads and if u still dont get it, give us a shout, someone will explain it to you.

In my opinion, you should read a lot and know what your agent is suggesting, after all they are human too and can make mistakes, if you are aware of the entire processing procedure, incase they go wrong somewehre, you can point out their mistake.. otherwise too reading always helps.. atleast you would know where you stand and what lies ahead

cheers
anj

srn,

You can go ahead if you qualify for CSL. all IT MODL are treated as CSL applicatents. 175 doesnot require any state sponsership. where as if you have statesponsership after applying 175, it will be converted as 176 and you have work in that state for atleast 2 years. So choice is yours.

As Anj is suggesting you need to read a lot before finalizing.

All the best...

Thanks Anj & mrmsml, that's exactly what i was looking for. I was wondering as to which thread i need to read. This gives me some idea.

I do not want to change from 175 to 176, i'll hang on.
