Smile Wow got my sparkling visa after 2 yrs

Hi Friends,

This is to let you know that I am awarded the sparkling 175 VE visa. Its been a long, long journey through.

I had applied the visa in Feb 08 and after long wait and even a baby finally got the much coveted visa. I am feeling really happy. Thank you to every body in the forum whether they were questioneers or answerers, I identify with each and every one of you.

My timelines are:

Initial Preparation: Mar 07
ACS Application: 10 August 07
ACS Validation: 13 Oct 07
IELTS : 2nd Feb 08
Application Lodged: 12th Feb 08
Got CO: Feb 09
Baby Born: March 09
Medicals Submitted: April 09
Police Clearance Submitted: May 09
Visa Grant Letter: July 09

I have a few questions. Now what do I do? Any links/pointers about how to start at the job process?

I am CSL, MODL , Java Specialist.

Thanks,
Royen

Hi R

welcome to the forum and congratulations for the visa.. the got it threads are increasing by the hour i must say

I suggest
1. adding ur timeline in the timeline thread and
2. go through the sticky threads towards the top of the forum, it has a thread with things to do once u r in AU/

that would help. in short u got to start planning where to go, packing, discarding what u dont wana take, accommodation/rentals, goodbyes, flight booking, job portals (to see where u shud go).. etc etc

do keep us nposted on how things go fro u

wish u luck

cheers
anj

Thank you everybody. My application was paper based. Went via an agent, but later found out that the agent was not registered by MARA. They just helped me in filling up the forms etc. Rest I had to hunt through for all the details.

Hari, have you confirmed with DIAC that you belong to CSL. For occupations specially IT related, you need to advise DIAC that your application belongs to CSL group.

All the best.

Regards,
Royen

Congratulations

Will you look for a job and then decide where you are moving to or do you have somewhere in mind already?

Regards,
Karen

Hi Karen,

I have decided to look for a job from here for the first few months. Leaving a great job here and then going over to look for one would be a bit risky.

I have 3 options in my head:
1. Look for a Job for the first few months(3 months) remotely.
2. Try exploring opportunities to take internal transfer within my company. My company is located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
3. If options 1 and 2 donot work then dash to Australia for abt 15 days and search for employment there. If I dont find one then I might return back and try again after 2 years.

Regards,
Royen

hi r

option one and two are good. as for option three, 15 days are not enough. one u get there, it takes approximately 8-10 days to get the tax file number, post which u apply and not necessarily u will get thru. Give it some more time and i am sure it would work. but plan two is the best , nothing beats an internal transfer

Oh Royen...Thanks for the reply.
As waiting a long.........I called Diac and already told them I am in Csl (electronics trade person). They already get to know that when i say my file no: to track my details.
So expecting a CO as Diac told to me after 2 weeks and within 6 weeks.
Very Optimistly
Hari.........
