Default Queer Dilemma...Please assit.

Hello Folks,

I am in very very queer situation and at my wits end.

I am an applicant from USA and here to get police clerance one has to send their finger prints to FBI ( federal burea of investugation )

Now I had send mine and my wifes ( I am the primary applicant for GSM 175 and she is the joint applicant ) to the FBI with our finger prints.

Mine just came fine back, but my wifes had an issue. She has the queer
medical problem named "hyperhidrosis" from child good. It means that her palms get sweaty the moment she starts some activity. It is hereditary and it is very tough on her and comes especially when she is self consious "Like I have to get the finger prints right!" feeling...There is no definite cure for this.

Now after we send the first prints, taken at the local police station, they were rejected for her. Then we went to a far place where they captured her finger prints digitally and then printed them on the pre defined FBI finger print card and then we send it. We were very hopeful, and the digital finger print technician also told that the prints looks much better ( plus forgot to mention she has her some ridges of her finger's not that clear ) from the last time but alas today we got a reject on that as well from the FBI stating she has low characters in her finger.

I am clueless on what to do ? Any help/suggestions ?

I mean if we go to a doctor and get a certificate from the doctor that she has this mendical condition then would a Name Check be enough from the FBI ? I am not sure if the FBI would accept this. But more than that

Would the DIAC accept this or would they insist on getting a finger print clerance from FBI ? Would it be end of road for us for PR due to this ? :-(

Any body in similar situation or know something please guide. What is so painful is that it is not her fault and she never had even a speeding ticket in her life !

Any help/suggestions would be really really appreciated.

Thanks..

Hi Aussies:

This is such an odd situation that I'd ask DIAC directly OR a Migration agent. I think the PCC is one of those non-negotiables so I think DIAC will likely ask your wife to try again.

I'm sorry I can't give better advice on this but it must surely be a first on our forum.

Hi there,

Welcome to the forum.

Yes, as amaslam suggested you should definitely seek the advice of a professional agent or contact DIAC directly. TBH I've never heard of this problem before.

We do have a few agents who post on here and you can contact them via their signatures (SOMV - Veronika - posts fairly regularly). When seeking advice from an agent, always make sure they are MIA/MARA registered.

Good luck and I hope it works out for you.

Dolly

Default Thanks...

First of all thanks amaslam and Dolly for your Kind replies.

I guess we could get the letter from the doctor for this medical condition and if lucky we can get a letter from FBI, if they are kind enough. I guess these two letters, together with the 2 rejected finger print cards from the FBI and a letter FBI had already send us stating that there are "low characters" in my wifes finger print, together with an affidavit/statutory declaration from my wife that she was never convicted, do you think would hold good enough for DIAC to give her a pass ? I mean not able to get finger print due to physical limitation would they shut the doors on us may be push our case for longer processing ? We are April 2009 applicants so I guess it would take some more months before a CO is assigned. So I was wondering if I send PLE to DIAC explaining this situation would they advise me at least what to do ? I mean I do not want to bother them as they would be bussy with cases and just want to know if they would at least entertain qiestions like this.

Thanks in advance...

If you're still in the US (as I assume you are), check the phone book to find the closest FBI office and call them to ask what you should do.

Most countries don't require you to be fingerprinted in order to get those police clearance documents. It's a peculiarity of the US system, due to the fact that there is no "national police" agency.

I can't believe this is the first and only time they have encountered this. (If your wife's condition has a name, it means someone else has had it.) And, oddly enough, the people at the local FBI offices can be remarkably helpful if you contact them directly to explain the situation.
Cheers,
Bev
