Smile How to CALL OFF/FORFEIT Graduate Temporary Visa 485

Hi lads,

I have been trying to find ways to call off/cancel my 485 lodged electronic application. I have also emailed a few contacts althought still waiting on their responses so I thought I'd raise a new thread here instead since I'm desperately in need to find a quick fix to call of my already lodged 485 application that causes me lots of headache and now I'm offshore & planning to lodge a student visa instead.

So ya if anybody here knows how to call off/cancel a lodged application please enlighten me!

here goes the two questions of mine:

1. Do we actually have to call it off in the first place in order to place in another visa option?

2. How to actually call off/Cancel a lodged e-application?

Regards.

Hi:

1. yes you have to cancel an older application before starting a new one. Not doing so will delay the processing of the new application.
2. You normally write to the Case Officer that you wish to cancel your application. They will then advise what you need to do exactly (i.e. fax a letter). You can use the e-mail of the CO to get in touch with him/her. If you do not have a CO yet you can post an enquiry about your application online and then state you wish to cancel your application. Then the department will advise exact steps to do so.

Your CO should confirm when your application is withdrawn. So you can send another e-mail to him/her to confirm that.
