Question Electrical Engineers

Hi everyone. Just wondering whether anyone can enlight me on the electrical engineers job market in Oz during these current times? I saw many job offers across Oz for various jobs related to electrical engineering. But is that the true reality? I have 5 yrs experience in within the building services sector. Currently having a diploma and an undergraduate presently for a degree by University of Newcastle Australia accredited by Engineers Australia through distance learning. Planning to migrate or maybe just work in Oz for a couple of years in the near future before really deciding. Any advice is greatly appreciated thanks

I think there's always a demand for Engineers in AU. Right now less than it was 1 year ago (but that's true across the board). Working in Oz for a few years usually means a PR migration visa anyway (unless you get an employee to sponsor you for a temp 457 visa instead).

If you are already accredited by Engineers Australia then see if you can apply for a 175/176 PR visa.

Read the Sticky threads at the top so you have links to read in detail about the visa options and all the attendant documentation.

For your application there are two major phases:
1. Recognition of your occupation (by an Engineering body i.e. Engineers Australia)
2. Application of the Visa
