Default Passport renewal

Hi All,
I need some urgent help Please .... !!!

I have a PR visa and currently in India for 3 weeks holidays...i need to endorse my wife's name in the passport but it seems my passport number will change after endorsement .. do i need to inform anything to Aus immigration ?? . I can get the passport renewal done in 5 days .. but my travel date back to aus in another 10 days.. if there is no formalities which is stopping me travel back .. i am planning to do it now..

Please need your suggestion and also any information which can help.

many thanks in advance and really appreciate your help.

Yes PP no will change .... I think you would need to inform AUS immigration (not sure of that) but you will get your old PP anyway from Indian authorities (they dont take it away from you they just stamp it as invalid) so that should help ..... you can get PP renewed in 5 days but make sure you take the public holidays coming next week into account ....

Why dont you call AU immigration and find out rather than rely on second hand advice .... i mean its a very clear cut question you have now so better ask them on phone.
